Britney Spears - Till The World Ends

A lot of people don't like this song.
Let me just tell you...
I'm OBSESSED with it.
It makes me want to dance everytime I hear it.
I also, just love Britney
Unless she is shaving her head or her extensions are showing.
But mostly I love her.
Enjoy.

I've decided.

Chuck Bass is my city boyfriend and Blake Shelton is my country boy.

I think I will always be in love with Chuck. He's cocky and arrogant, yes...but come on, what girl doesn't fall for a guy like that every now and again. You want your guy to be a little bit like that right? But he's so cute to Blair when they're in love. And what girl doesn't want a guy to be completely in love with them and go after them the way he is lately. (Ahh this show is frustrating me so much ps!)
But then there is Blake...move over Miranda Lambert...I'm gonna steal him! I love his voice, I love that he's country, and he's so hot! Also he seems super funny. He was on Chelsey Lately talking about "The Voice" (which by the way I've been loving!) and he was cracking me up. He just seems like a real man. Not the guy who is going to want to help you decorate the house...he'd want to build the house. Ha. Anyway, I've already secretly wanted a cowboy. So Blake, you get to be my new bf. Sound good to you? Great.

Phantogram - Mouthful Of Diamonds

loving this song right now...so different

You've got a mouthful of diamonds
and a pocketful of secrets
I know you're never telling anyone
Because the patterns they control your mind
Those patterns they take away my time
Hello, goodbye

And if it isn't me
Then pack your bags and leave

Frightened Rabbit - My Backwards Walk

I'm working on erasing you
I just don't have the proper tools
I get hammered, forget that you exist
There's no way I'm forgetting this
...
I'm working on my backwards walk
There's nowhere else for me to go
Except back to you just one last time
Say yes before I change my mind
...
You're the shit and I'm knee deep in it.
You're the shit and I'm knee deep in it.

Chris Young - Tomorrow

Tomorrow I'm gonna leave here.
I'm gonna let you go and walk away like every day I said I would.
And tomorrow, I'm gonna listen.
That voice of reason inside my head telling me that we're no good.

But tonight I'm gonna give it one last time.
Rock you strong in these arms of mine.
Forget all the regrets that are bound to follow.
We're like fire and gasoline.
I'm no good for you.
You're no good for me.
We only bring each other tears and sorrow.
But tonight, I'm gonna love you like there's no tomorrow.

Tomorrow I'll be stronger.
I'm not gonna break down and call you up when my heart calls out for you.
And tomorrow, you won't believe it,
but when I pass your house, I won't stop no matter how bad I want to.

Baby when we're good, you know we're great.
But there's too much bad for us to think that there's anything worth trying to save.

Tomorrow, I'm gonna leave here.
I'm gonna let you go and walk away like every day I said I would.

What Do You Want

Jerrod Niemann - What Do You Want

Why’d you call me today with nothing new to say? You pretend it’s just hello, but you know what it does to me to see your number on the phone.

Now tell me, what do you want? What do you want? What do you want from me?
Are you tryin’ to bring back the tears or just the memories?
You keep takin’ me back, takin’ me back where I’ve already been.
When we hang up it’s almost like I’m losing you again.
Can’t you see? So what do you want, what do you want from me?

What do you want me to say? That I’m content? That I’m on the fence? That I wish you would’ve stayed?

Oh baby what do you want, what do you want, what do you want from me?
To come here and make love tonight cause you’re feelin’ lonely.
You keep takin’ me back, takin’ me back where I’ve already been.
When we wake up and say goodbye it’s like I’m losing you again.
Can’t you see? So what do you want, what do you want from me?
What do you want, what do you want from me?

All I Ask Of You- Phantom of the Opera

So I saw Phantom last week in New York. It was amazing. All three of the main characters were so good. Literally I was dying over the Phantom. I want to hear his voice every day. I want to personally hire him to sing me to sleep. Just so good. When he sang "Music of the Night" I almost died.
But I wanted to post my favorite song. It's really hard to pick one though because I love them all. I've pretty much had this whole play memorized since I was three (you can ask my Mom, they tease me about it), but this was the first time I had seen it. Anyway, this song just gets me every time. Especially in the play when the Phantom chimes in and he's just so sad. Ah it makes me cry. I think this is the saddest love story ever.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do! And if you get the chance to go, go see it! Amazing!

Ten Day "YOU" Challenge - Day 9

Day 9 - Nine Loves

1. Shoes
My theory is that a girl can never have too many pairs of shoes. If I'm having a rough day or week, the thing that always makes me feel better is a new pair of fabulous shoes. Why? Because shoes always fit. You're always same size in shoes, they never make you feel fat, and they're usually more for fun that function. I buy shoes to make an outfit. So here's to shoes.
2. Reading
I love to read. I could spend all night reading a good book and finish it. I wish I had more time! I'm always open to good recommendations too.
3. Vacations/ Trips
Love love love traveling! Even if it's just for a day or two and it's only two hours away! I love to go anywhere, and as I've said in previous posts, I hope to get to do more of it to many more places in the future. For now I just like to go on vacations whenever I can! Going to New York tomorrow! Woo hoo!
4. My Friends
I don't think this one needs too much explaining :)
5. Shopping
Not sure I need to explain this one too much either. What girl doesn't love shopping? Retail therapy anyone? It's fun and it's a stress reliever. Sometimes I just like to window shop even.
6. Music
I've talked about this before too. I'd die without music. I listen to it all day long. I love to sing. I love to sing in the car and blast my music as loud as I want! I love to listen to soft music at night while I fall asleep. I love listening to lyrics. I love Classical music when I'm thinking. I loved playing musical instruments when I was younger and hope to pick it back up when I can have access to a piano again. I love dancing, which goes with music...etc etc. Music is a part of my every day life.
7. Dancing
I love all kinds of dancing. I've danced since I was three years old. Mostly ballet, but like I said I love all kinds. I love to go out and dance with my friends, or by myself in my room (yeah I'm a nerd, who cares?). I love to watch dancing tv shows, etc. Kinda a sucker for cheesy dance movies too...Step Up...WHAT UP? haha. Just love it.
8. Summer
Sun. Sand. Beach. Boating. BBQs. Pools. Flip Flops. Dresses. Swim Suits. Popsicles. I could go on forever.
9. Taking Pictures/ Photography
I probably take more pictures than anyone I know. I just love to have the memories and be able to remember everything. It's just fun to me. I might not be the best photographer ever, but I just like to take pictures. I also just like photography in general. I like seeing what other people have "captured".
10. My Family
These photos are all from a trip my family took to Alaska two summers ago. My Grandpa and Grandma took our whole family (cousins, aunts, uncles, etc) on a Cruise. It was so fun. I love my family so much. I'm sad I only get to see them a few times a year since they live in Cali. But let me introduce them to you, since I haven't really done it on here before.

This is my Brother Adam. He turns 22 next week and is working for the San Bernardino County Police Department as an intern. He graduates from UCSB in JUNE and then will hopefully start the Police Academy soon. :)
This is Taylor. He just turned 16 and got his driver's license! Scary! He's a sophomore in High School, is on Varsity Soccer for the second year, and just made it to State for Speech and Debate for the second year in a row too.
This is my mom :) Most people think we look exactly alike. Everywhere I go I have someone ask me if I'm a Sharp. (her maiden name). My mom is probably one of my best friends since I've moved away from home. We definitely still have our moments when we fight, but I talk to her all the time and I'm not sure what I'd do if I couldn't.
This is us with my Dad. He's a dentist and the one that has taught me all about my good taste in "older" music haha. He used to quiz me in the car about Led Zeppelin and Stix, etc...while I'm tried to teach him the difference between N'Sync and the Backstreet Boys. I'm not sure that stuck though.
The whole family :

music and lyrics

For me, music has and always will be a big part of my life. I've played instruments since I was little. I've danced since I was little. I'm the girl who sings even when she doesn't sound good...in the car, at work, anywhere really. You can use it to convey lots of emotions. It can make you want to jump around and dance, sing, or celebrate. It can make a workout a whole lot easier. It can also make you want to cry, or at the same time comfort you. As I've said for before, sometimes it seems like a song is meant just for you.

On a recent episode of Glee, Rachel has a hard time writing a song, because she isn't able to reach down far enough into herself. Until she experiences true pain, she doesn't find the right lyrics and emotion to really get that good song. I think this is why I love music so much. Because it's real. Because it's people's real experiences and emotions. Whether happy or sad, fun or heartbreaking...a truly good and lasting song usually comes from a real place in the writer or singers heart, or whatever you want to call it.

I think this is also why on numerous occasions I turn to music when I'm having a hard time. Or possibly why I'll burst into tears during a song in the car during these times. Like recently during this song:

Lady Antebellum - Need You Now

Picture perfect memories
Scattered all around the floor
Reaching for the phone 'cause
I can't fight it anymore

And I wonder if I
Ever cross your mind
For me it happens all the time

It's a quarter after one
I'm all alone
And I need you now
Said I wouldn't call
But I've lost all control
And I need you now

And I don't know how
I can do without
I just need you now

I've always loved this song. But I think hearing a song at a certain point in your life has a different effect on you. Yet another reason I love music. It can change meanings at different times too. It can also bring back certain memories. I guess that can sometimes be bad.

Anyway, this song yet again describes exactly how I felt the other night. It's like all the hurt that I'm feeling, someone else already felt when they wrote this song. The line "I wonder if I ever cross your mind" will not stop going through my head...and I cannot sleep. Of course this relates a little bit to my post "say what you need to say". This all sounds very vague, I know, but I just don't want to throw the whole story out there. I just use this place to get my feelings out enough that I feel a little better. But I think almost everybody could relate to this lyric. Hasn't everybody wondered that at some point? It hurts and it's just slightly stressful.

If you hadn't noticed I've been having one of those "bad weeks". Lots of confusing stuff going on...I'm hoping things will get figured out soon, but until then I guess I will just continue to sing in the car at the stop of my lungs and have a good cry when I need it. After all, the artist wrote the song for other people to either enjoy or to sympathize with right? And since when does a good cry not just make you feel a little better every once in a while?

H&M Magazine Spring 2011

Jacquelyn Jablonski for H&M Magazine Spring 2011
I love this spread. I think she is so unique and gorgeous and he is not so bad to look at either (whoever he is). I love the style. The first pictures makes me want someone to teach me how to play the quitar.

Adele

Adele was on Chelsey Lately last night promoting her new album "21"...which is amazing...and she was hilarious! She basically said all of her songs are about her experience and mostly people she's dated or been in love with etc...but she was like, "Well I guess if you don't want a song written about you then don't F me over." HAHA. Not all of her songs are like that, but I thought it was hilarious. She has the most funny laugh ever and the funniest sense of humor. You should all look up the episode and watch it. If I can find it I will post it.
Anyway, I posted one of my favorite songs below. Take a listen. and go get her CD.

Not like the movies

Let's face it...life is not like the movies.

The songs Not like the Movies by Katy Perry and If this was a Movie by Taylor Swift sort of sum it up. At one point or another we kind of all wish for that fairy tale ending...or for the guy to be standing outside your window begging for you to come back to him. But in reality, they're going to let you get on the plane and leave. No one is going to come running down the terminal after you. No one is going to be standing outside with a boombox over his head.

That's sort of why the movies the "The Break Up" and "The Last Kiss" sort of hit home more for me...or maybe why I guess I can relate more to music than I can to movies. They seem to get it "more right". Now the song Last Kiss by Taylor Swift might have it right. You can plan for a change in the weather...but you probably didn't plan on him changing his mind. I'm not trying to be all depressing and melodramtic, but it's just true. We get so caught up in the romance of movies, but I just don't feel like it happens in real life. Take it from the movie "He's Just Not That Into You"...it's the exception, not the rule. Real life goes a little like this...you date someone for three years, and then you fight over something so stupid (lemons maybe?), or the person just doesn't change, or etc, and you break up and run into them on the street a couple of months later and say hi and thats it. Then at the end of that movie, you never find out what happens, because you probably hang out once or twice or go through a whole back and forth thing again and nothing ever happens. He doesn't sweep her off her feet and then they get married...he doesn't chase her down after she walks out of the apartment because he knows he's going to lose the best thing that ever happened to him, and he definitely doesn't do some crazy ariel jump across a building or what not to save her and tell her he loves her. Ok, he doesn't even show up with flowers to take her to the prom when they're 18 etc...

Besides, in the movies they never show the other girl who gets hurt when the "good" couple gets back together. What about her? Like in "Sweet Home Alabama"...what about her finance? I feel bad for him? He was in love with her...bought her an AMAZING Tiffany's ring! and then just gets dropped...but you're just supposed to be happy for the two that get back together. I love this movie, don't get me wrong. I'm just in one of the moods and thinking about the other side.

Anyway, as Taylor Swift and Katy Perry alude to, hoping for the best is all we can do. I guess that's one message they could be trying to get across. Or maybe just realizing what is reality. "If this was a movie, you'd be here by now..." Maybe Taylor means that we have to get over a childish dream and make our own life happen. He isn't showing up, he isn't going to come say sorry, or admit his mistake...so now she has a choice to make. Move on, or just keep waiting for something that probably won't happen. And maybe when Katy says, "If it's not like the movies, then that's how it should be...", she's saying don't settle. He's probably not going to run to your rescue or do some huge grand gesture to tell you he loves you, but you should feel the same way that you would if he did. Besides, if you don't have that amazing feeling, why are you with that person? Everyone deserves to be with someone that makes them the happiest person alive...to be with someone who will be there whenever you need them...and who would do anything for you...even if it's just in small ways, and not the way that the movies portray it. I guess I don't need someone to stop a plane for me. I just want someone to jump start my car when my battery dies...and hold me when I need a hug. I just want someone to stay. I don't want someone to have to chase me if I walk out the door, because I don't want a reason to walk out the door.

Anyway...those are my thoughts...

ABC's of my current Favorites

I was bored, driving down to Jake's the other day because my ipod died and the radio stations don't work so well on the way to Holden...anway, I started thinking of a list of all my favorite things right now. Just thought it would be fun to make one. So here are the ABC's of my current favorites (and some of my all time...)

A

Anthropologie - of course, I couldn't not put it on the list.

Alternative Apparel - so comfy. I love it right now, because I hate getting dressed in the winter!

Addict II - by Dior. I just got it again for Christmas. It's probably one of my favorite perfumes ever.

B

Blogging - apparently I love blogging. Forget Facebook! I spend all my time stalking blogs lately!

The Bachelor - It's back on! It's my guilty pleasure. I love watching the drama.

Booties - never thought I would, but I've bought 3 pair.

Blockbuster Online - it's like Netflix, but you can exchange in the store...so much better!

C

CHUCK BASS
Country Music - kind of just an all time favorite, but I've been listening to it a lot again.

Christopher's Steakhouse - Jake and I got a groupon to go there. I have yet to go, but I'm DYING to. I've heard it's amazing. So I put it on here because I can't get it out of my head.

D

Depp, Johnny - Love him. Loved him in the Tourist, but I don't think I ever dislike him in a movie. Pirates is out May 20!

DiCaprio, Leonardo - Inception, Shutter Island...do I even need to goon?

David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel - actors on the show Bones. I'm obsessed. I've been flying through the seasons like mad.

E

Erin Heatherton - Can I say I'm obsessed? I think she is the cutest thing ever. I want to be her. Or at least look like her.

El Pollo Loco - I know, I'm weird, but I cannot stop eating their tamales. SOOO GOOD. I promise.

F

Fur Coats - OBSESSED. I want one so bad. Especially since I might be going to NY in March. Hello, I want to be like Serena! (faux fur of course :) )

Florence and the Machine - favorite song , "Dog Days are Over"

Free People's January Video - It's filmed in Paris and it makes me want to go.

Feathers - on dresses, skirts, for decoration. Just think they're so fun!

G

Gold - Jewerly especially, but basically everything else too.

Grey's, Glee, and Gossip Girl - LOVE!

H

High Heels - the higher the better!

Hulu- saves my life at work and since I don't have T-Vo anymore.

"Hold You Against Me" - Brit Brit's new song...love it right now. Makes me wanna dance. Still just love that she is back.

L

Lola - Marc Jacobs Perfume. Just got this one too. Smells fantastic.

Lucky Magazine

Louboutins - I want some. One Day.

Million Dollar Money Drop - I'm addicted. I'm stupid. At least I'm learning useless trivia. Maybe I'll win something by knowing it one day.

Marc by Marc - this brand will always be one of my favorites. It speaks for itself.

Mara Hoffman Swim Suits - So cute. Especially this one...I'm getting it for this summer.

N

Northface - I want a puffy jacket. Or one of their thin ones. Jake gave me one of their vest recently and I found that it just made me want more...so goes my life..haha.

excited. Plus I've always wanted to live there.

Nude - I love this color right now.

O

Ombre Hair - still love this look, as long as it's not too overboard.

Orange - I think this is a really cute color right now too. Maybe because it looks cute with nude colors?

Over the Knee Boots

Online Shopping - I actually don't buy that much online, but I spend a lot of time looking and it fills up a lot of my down time. So I rather enjoy it. And a girl can dream right?

P

Now I'm reading "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"...murder mystery, suspense, etc. I like it so far. I'll let you know how it goes. I love getting under the covers and just reading the night away. I'm also so looking forward to watching both of the movies afterwards.

S

Seat Heaters - a life saver for me anytime I get into my car during the winter.

Snickerdoodle Hot Chocolate - from Juice and Java in Provo. Life changing.

T

page at victoriasecret.com too.

W

Weheartit.com - I've been spending WAY too much time there lately.

Watches - I want to start a collection. I love them as an accessory. Too bad I just want all the expensive ones. AHHH

Z

ZHT, the morning Zoo - I listen to it on the way to work, and I think they are hilarious. I love the radio station in general, but they crack me up. Plus their website is equally entertaining.
Rachel Zoe - just love her. Can't get enouh. Love her favorite picks on Piperlime.
